Kent St. is a strong team. Beat up on A&M earlier this year, betting against them is a bold move.

Actually Kent State lost to A&M earlier this year, at home 77-71. Kent State has lost 3 in a row. A&M has lost one game this year to a decent Tulsa team and played nobody else any good.

How are you coming up with these picks? Is another handicapping service, or do you actually have data on St. Mary's, Tennesee Martin, and Moorhead St?

I do my own research on these games. I look through previous scores, schedules, who they have played....etc. For instance, TN Martin has lost to USC (5-2) and TN (5-1, lost to Gonzaga) so far this year, two games they should of loss yet sit 2-3. The other loss was to 5-1 Ark. State. They also have one of the top 10 guards in the country named Lester Hudson averaging 26 ppg. They are the better team the only question is how will they fare on the road. The favorites to win OVC championship. Morehead State is 1-6 losing to Grambling, Florida A&M, Drake, and Grambling just to name a few. Supposed to be decent but has played horrible so far.

St. Mary's is a strong team lead by Patty Mills, the Australian Olympics contender. They went 25-7 last year and return four starters. Kent State has lost 3 in a row to Illionis, A&M, and Kansas (all pretty good teams). St. Mary's is too talented to stumble at Kent State and should be in the top 25 soon. They screwed up at UTEP and that loss will hurt them come NCAA tourney time.

UCLA/TX 0129 Together these two teams average 146 ppg (TX 73.2, UCLA 72.8). Defensively, give up 113 ppg (TX 55.5, UCLA 57.2). If you look past the numbers those defensive averages are skewed by shitty teams. These teams are not equal (TX is better and at home) but I expect each to put up at least 65 and probably more. TX will most likely put up 70 at least. The closeness of the game will send it OVER 129 (free throws and fouls at the end).

St. Mary's/Kent State 0 139
St. Mary's is an offensive machine averaging 82.2 ppg, Kent State 72.7. Total is 155 points. Defensively it is 135. St. Mary's offense will cary this close game OVER 139.

Murray State (4-1) is a rising favorite to challenge the OVC crown. They defeated Western Kentucky by 28. Western Kentucky blasted Lousville. Eastern Kentucky (4-2) has beat Winstom-Salem (0-6), A D II school, Farleigh Dickson (0-5), and Akron (5-2).

Nice work Austin, 4 out of 5 for a six unit gain. Too bad about Tenn. Martin... could have been a perfect night.
